Abstract
Technological developments in the field of construction increasingly advanced, both in the assembly and maintenance. Along with technological advances in the field of construction, making welding needs increasingly needed. Welding technology itself is divided into several types, one of which is spot welding. Spot welding is a welding technology that is widely used in the industry to connect two sheet-shaped materials/plates and in this study the material used is aluminum and stainless steel with the addition of mixed filler between aluminum and stainless steel with a ratio of 80%: 20%. In the welding process using current parameters of 6000 A, 7000 A, 8000 A and welding time 0.2 seconds, 0.3 seconds, 0.4 seconds with holding time 0.3 seconds. After the welding process is completed then done Testing macro and micro images using standard ASTM E407-07. The result of macro photos test shows that the current and weld time affect the width of weld metal diameter (nugget). The larger the current and the welding time, the diameter of the weld metal is greater. The results of the micro-photo testing show that the base metal area, HAZ, and weld metal does not change significantly, but only changes the grain.
