Abstract

This study analyzes Ella's brave personality as the main character in Disney's Cinderella (2015) through a psychological approach. It addresses three interrelated aspects: the types of courage demonstrated by Ella, the ways in which courage is represented through the film's narrative elements, and the effects of courage on Ella's character development. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method. Primary data consist of dialogue, actions, expressions, and scenes involving Ella, while secondary data are drawn from books and scholarly articles related to literary psychology, personality, courage, film, and character development. Data were collected through documentation and note-taking and analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The analysis classifies courage into physical, moral, and psychological courage and interprets its contribution to character formation through persistence, integrity, and vitality. The findings show that all three forms of courage are present in Ella, although moral and psychological courage are more prominent than physical courage. Her courage is constructed through characterization, setting, conflict, theme, plot, point of view, and moral values. The study therefore argues that courage in the film is not limited to physical confrontation; it also appears as the capacity to preserve values, face grief and emotional pressure, speak against injustice, and continue acting with kindness in unfavorable circumstances
