Abstract

The development of literacy and creative culture plays an important role in improving the quality of human resources and strengthening local identity. Ponorogo Regency has strong cultural potential, particularly through the traditional art of Reog Ponorogo. However, on the other hand, the literacy culture of the community is still declining, and various literacy activities that have developed are not yet supported by adequate and well-integrated facilities. In addition, the low quality of spaces that do not support comfort and concentration also affects the effectiveness of user activities. This design aims to develop a Literacy Center in Ponorogo Regency based on a Creative Cultural Hub concept that integrates literacy activities and creative culture into a unified facility. The Restorative Environment Design approach is applied to create a comfortable environment that supports concentration and enhances the quality of user experience. The methods used include literature studies, precedent studies, field observations, and data analysis, which then serve as the basis for formulating the design concept. The design result is a literacy center that accommodates educational, social, and creative functions through spatial zoning, massing arrangement, and spatial relationships that support collaborative activities. The restorative approach is implemented through design elements such as the use of natural lighting, vegetation, and spatial sensory experiences to reduce mental fatigue and improve user comfort. Thus, this design is expected to become an inclusive and sustainable space for literacy and creativity, while strengthening social interaction and cultural identity in Ponorogo Regency.
