Abstract
Motorcycles are one of the most widely used means of transportation in Indonesia.However, common minor breakdowns often require users to visit a repair shop, even though some problems can actually be handled independently. Lack of user knowledge regarding maintenance and repair is a major obstacle in overcoming this problem. Therefore, this study aims to develop a web-based expert system that can assist users in diagnosing and providing solutions for motorcycle repairs independently. This system was developed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the waterfall model, which includes the planning, analysis, design, and implementation stages. This expert system applies the Certainty Factor (CF) method to determine the level of confidence in a diagnosis based on the symptoms selected by the user. The data used in this study were obtained through interviews with motorcycle technicians and a literature review. The system was built using the PHP programming language with MySQL as the database and ran on a local server using Laragon. The results of the study indicate that the developed expert system is capable of providing accurate diagnoses and appropriate repair solutions based on the symptoms entered by the user. System testing was conducted using black box testing and the System Usability Scale (SUS), which indicated that the system functioned well and was easy to use. This system is expected to help users perform basic maintenance and minor repairs independently without relying entirely on a repair shop
