Abstract

This research is motivated by the diversity of models and curriculum structures among Muhammadiyah Islamic boarding schools in Pekalongan City, which respond to the demands of integrating general education in the modern era. This study aims to analyze the structure and content of the curriculum, the form of integration, and the development model of the pesantren curriculum at MTQ Al-Fatah and MBS K.H. Mas Mansyur. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive field research with a phenomenological approach. The object of this research is MTQ Al-Fatah, and the subjects are mudirs, representatives of curriculum divisions, and teachers at Islamic boarding schools. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation, with researchers as the primary instruments, and were validated through source and time triangulation. Data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that MTQ Al-Fatah focuses on the tahfidzul Qur'an curriculum, integrating shared, webbed, and threaded models. Meanwhile, MBS K.H. Mas Mansyur integrates the madrasah curriculum (KMA 1503/2025) with typical pesantren education through a combination of sequenced, shared, integrated, and threaded. The development of the Al-Fatah MTQ curriculum follows the Non-Segmented Integrated Model with the Grass-roots Taba approach. At the same time, MBS K.H. Mas Mansyur uses an Integrated Curriculum Model based on the Tyler Rationale, aligned with the Independent Curriculum and the Love-Based Curriculum. In conclusion, the two pesantren have distinct curriculum characteristics and development models, reflecting their respective focuses and peculiarities.
