Abstract

Student engagement is a student's action or attitude, emotional condition, and cognitive activity carried out by students in learning activities at school. Student engagement is a learning process that is also one of the determinants of academic success at school. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of self-efficacy and school climate on student engagement at school. This study used SMA N 1 Kartasura class XI students as respondents. In this study, the sampling method used a random sampling technique. It used 3 psychological scales namely the student involvement scale, self-efficacy scale, and school climate scale as data collection tools. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a role between self-efficacy and school climate on student involvement in class XI students at SMA N 1 Kartasura. This study found that there is a relationship between the role of self-efficacy and school climate on student involvement of R = 0.479 sig 0.001, which means that the higher the self-efficacy of students the higher the student involvement, as well as the higher the school climate obtained, the higher the student involvement, and vice versa. So in this study is accepted. Student engagement can run well by increasing the self-efficacy and school climate of their students.
