Abstract

As time goes by, education continues to develop, causing more and more public interest in Islamic boarding schools, but some Islamic boarding schools have not been able to facilitate this need well because the increase in interest does not go hand in hand with the readiness of Islamic boarding schools to facilitate their users ideally. As happened at the Al Muhibbin Kampoeng Pitulikur Islamic Boarding School in Blora where interest in the Islamic boarding school continues to increase, but from the data from the Retirement Evaluation results carried out by the Islamic Boarding School, the Islamic Boarding School does not yet have sufficient readiness to facilitate the activities of existing users. Based on these problems, a redesign of the Islamic boarding school was carried out with the aim of redesigning it according to existing standards and also applying an ergonomics approach to design in an effort to provide adequate educational facilities, where educational facility standards apply the provisions of infrastructure standards and building comfort requirements according to Minister of National Education Regulation Number 24 of 2007 and the ergonomics approach emphasize the level of comfort (space circulation, air circulation, view, noise), security (materials, fire protection, electrical installations, security features), and also effectiveness (space layout, anthropometry facilities) user space.
