Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between social support and aspirations with learning motivation. This study uses a correlational quantitative approach with a population of SMA in Surakarta. The sample in this study amounted to 83 students with the sampling technique used was simple random sampling, in which the sample was taken randomly. The data collection tool used is a google form using 3 scales including learning motivation scale, social support scale, and aspiration scale. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between social support and aspirations with the learning motivation, obtained R = 0.0549, F = 17.219 and Sig. = 0.000 (p<0.05). Then social support and learning motivation were obtained r = 0.541 and sig 1-tailed = 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a positive and significant relationship between social support and learning motivation. Furthermore, aspiration and learning motivation obtained r = 0.193 and sig 1-tailed = 0.037 (p <0.05), meaning that there is no relationship between aspiration and learning motivation. The effective contribution in this study was 30.1% with detailsof social support having a greater influence, namely 28.34% and aspirations of 1.73% on learning motivation and the remaining 69.9% was influenced by other factors outside the research.
