Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of the character of students at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muayyad Surakarta which are still not in accordance with religious teachings. In addition, there are violations including discpilne, order and many other violations. The implementation of the values of character education is an effort made by educational institutions to familiarize and instill good character in students. The purpose of this research is (1) How is the implementation of student character education in the subject of aqidah akhlak at Madrasah AL-Muayyad Surakarta?. (2) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of student character education at the Al-Muayyad Surakarta Madrasah in the academic year. The type of research used is field research which is qualitative in nature. In this study using a phenomenological approach. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique with data triangulation technique. The research results obtained that in implementing student character education at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muayyad Surakarta is manifested by various activities aimed at forming and familiarizing student character. To support this process, the learning activities of the moral creed and the efforts of the Al-Muayyad Surakarta Madrasah Aliyah teacher, namely by living up to the curriculum values applied in the Madrasah, exemplifying commendable morals, advising, and admonishing. Supporting and Inhibiting Factors in the Implementation of Character Education in the Subject of Aqidah Akhlak at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muayyad Surakarta. (a). Supporting factors include book references, environment, teaching staff. (b) Inhibiting factors include low student awareness, social media, management of teaching time.
