Abstract

The more sophisticated the development of the times can indirectly lead to an increase in purchasing power. The purpose of research this is to know relationship between self-control and self-esteem with consumptive behavior through s in college students. This research uses quantitative methods and data collection uses scale, self-control scale, self-esteem scale and consumptive behavior scale. Subject in this study was 150 students and took it sample by technique purposive random sampling. Data analysis using multiple regression analysis with the help of SPSS software. The results showed there is a relationship between self-control and self-esteem with consumptive behavior through s in college students with r = 0.259 and sig = 0.00 (p < 0.05). The study also showed that there is a relationship significant negatives between self-control and consumptive behavior r = -0.253 and sig = 0.00 (p < 0.05) and there is a relationship negative significant between self-esteem and consumptive behavior r = -0.124 and sig = 0.00 (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between independent variables. and variables. dependent in this research. This research suggests self-control to prevent the occurrence of consumptive behavior.
