Abstract

Work stress is a condition in which the person feels that there is an imbalance at work that affects the individual emotionally, physically, and psychically the person. Stress management is the art of controlling or managing stress that aims to find out the cause of stress, master stress management skills, and allow individuals to manage stress in their lives better than being squeezed by stress itself. Work stress is often ignored by teachers, if it continues to be ignored it can have a negative impact, therefore the head of the madrasa needs to prioritize stress management. The purpose of this study was to find out what factors cause stress in teachers, describe stress management by the head of the madrasah, and find out the impact of stress management in improving teacher performance in the Sidoarjo Bilingual Ma. The research method used in this study is qualitative. The findings of this study are (1) three factors that cause stress in bilingual MA teachers, namely first, students' bad behavior in the form of student indiscipline. Secondly, the workload is large, and thirdly, the difference in character. (2) Stress management applied by bilingual MA using an individual approach and an organizational approach. The individual approach is carried out by the teacher himself in coping with work stress. The organizational approach is carried out by the head of the madrasa by holding meetings, providing training to teachers, and giving rewards and punishments. (3) The impact of stress management in improving teacher performance results in a healthy madrasah management system and the learning process runs optimally.
