Abstract
Academic stress in adolescents occurs due to academic demand in the form of pressure from study, workload, worry about grades, self-expectations and despondency that can cause an increase in academic stress levels that has an impact on changes in adolescents’ food intake, leading to overeating or undereating and related to the fulfillment daily intake of energy and fat. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between academic stress levels with energy and fat intake in adolescents at SMK Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Magelang. This study belonged to observational analytic study with a cross sectional design, involving 55 subjects from 11 grades of SMK Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Magelang. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling method. Data retrieval of academic stress level were taken using the Educational Stress Scale Adolescent (ESSA) questionnaire, data energy and fat intake were taken using a 24-hour food record form for 3 days and filling was done online by sending a Googleform link via WhatsApp group. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson Product Moment. The result of this study showed that the respondents had moderate levels of academic stress (85,5%), severe academic stress (9,1%) with less energy intake (81,1%) and less fat intake (38,2%) and excess fat intake (16,4%). There was no correlation between academic stress levels with energy intake (p=0,571) and there was no correlation between academic stress levels and fat intake (p= 0,837) in adolescents at SMK Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Magelang. There was no correlation between academic stress levels with energy and fat intake in adolescents at SMK Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Magelang. It is expected that respondents can increase their knowledge of stress management and maintain food intake, especially on energy and fat intake. Keywords:
