Abstract
The formation of religious character is an effort that needs to be passed to produce a generation with noble character. With this research, it will be known how the example of Islamic Religious and Character teachers in shaping religious character in students at middle school 1 Simo. And some factors that need to be known about supporters and obstacles in the formation of religious character in students. This research is qualitative research that examines how the efforts made by Islamic Religious and Character teachers in building religious character in students. This study used data collection techniques with observation, interview, and documentation. Then the data obtained will be processed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study are 1) knowing the religious character of students of middle school 1 Simo for the 2021/2022 school year which is considered to be good and needs to be improved again. 2) knowing the efforts made by Islamic religion teachers and manners in building religious character in students, by applying discipline, good habituation, coaching, and evaluation. 3) knowing the supporting factors in the form of spiritual intelligence, the homeroom teacher as a guide, the role of parents, teachers as role models, extracurriculars, facilities, and infrastructure. And obstacles in carrying out efforts to build religious character in students such as some students who are less open, lack of attention from parents, and the influence of the outside world and social media.
