Abstract

This study aims to (1) identify the constructive structure of the novel Muhammad Sang Pewaris Rain by Tasaro GK; (2) describe the intertextual relationship of war strategy in the book of Dr. Umar Bin Khaththab. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Humaidi and the novel Muhammad Sang Pewaris Rain by Tasaro GK; and (3) its relevance as literature teaching materials in high school. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data sources used are primary data sources and secondary data sources. The primary data source of this research is the book of Dr. Umar Bin Khaththab. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Humaidi and the novel Muhammad Sang Pewaris Rain by Tasaro GK. The secondary data sources of this research are references related to primary data. The data collected are in the form of words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and discourses that are closely related to war strategies and intertextual relationships in the book of Umar Bin Khaththab by Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Humaidi and the novel Muhammad Sang Pewaris Rain by Tasaro GK. Data were collected using library techniques. The data analysis technique in this study used the semiotic model reading method, namely heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The results of this study indicate (1) the structure of the novel Muhammad Sang Pewaris Rain by Tasaro GK with the theme of a traveler's spiritual journey. The characters who play the role are Kashva as the main character, Bar, Umar bin Khaththab, Maria, Abdurrahman bin Auf, Abu Ubaidah, Amr bin Ash, Muhammad, Hurmuzan, Physician Boutrus. The novel under study has a forward plot. The background of the place in MSPH is Persia, Turkey, Palestine, Babylonian Fort, Egypt, and Medina. The social setting in the MSPH novel by Tasaro GK is the life of the people who work as traders such as trading in camel and goat skins. The time setting occurred during the leadership of Umar bin Khaththab; (2) processing of intertextual study data is carried out by: (a) expansion found three data, (b) modification found three data, (c) extract found four data, (d) conversion found two data. The relevance of the research results of the novel Muhammad Sang Pewaris Rain by Tasaro GK as literature teaching materials in high school; (3) this research has been relevant according to the criteria of teaching materials which include aspects of language, psychology, and socio-cultural background, especially in literature learning in high school in class XII, k13, KD 3.8 Interpreting the author's view of life in novels that have been read and KD 4.8 Presenting the results of the interpretation of the author's views both orally and in writing.
