Abstract
The background of the problem raised in this study is learning mathematics which is still considered difficult and scary by students so that innovation is needed. One that can be used as an innovation is learning mathematics that is connected to Indonesian culture or known as ethnomathematics. With Indonesian culture, especially Pekalongan City, which is very diverse, so that it can be appointed as a learning material for mathematics. Thus, mathematics learning innovation can be achieved and can be used as an alternative way to introduce culture to the younger generation. The purpose of this study was to determine the ethnomathematical concept of batik motifs in the Pekalongan area and to determine the role of Pekalongan batik in learning mathematics. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. In the research entitled "Ethnomathematical Exploration of Batik Motifs in Pekalongan City" the following results were obtained: (1) There are several ethnomathematical concepts in batik motifs in Pekalongan City, namely the concept of flat shape and the concept of transformation geometry. The concept of a flat shape includes triangles, squares, and circles, while in the concept of geometry the transformation includes translation (shift) and reflection (mirror). (2) Implementation of the Pekalongan City batik motif in mathematics learning that can be used in the delivery of mathematics subject matter with culture (ethnomate). With this implementation, it can also directly educate students about the batik culture of Pekalongan City.
