Abstract
The pyrolysis process of plastic waste is a decomposition process of organic compounds contained in plastic through a heating process with little or no oxygen involved. This study aims to determine the effective temperature, the effective flame duration of gasification, the temperature in the distillation reactor, the amount of mass of fuel produced, and the Water Boiling Test of Pyrolysis Oil. This pyrolysis process uses PP (Polypropylene) plastic with sawdust as fuel. The pyrolysis process was carried out for 405 minutes using 2 furnaces, furnace 1 had an average temperature of 567.91°C, while furnace 2 had an average temperature of 431.18°C. At the bottom of the reactor has an average temperature of 373.04°C, while the inside of the reactor has an average temperature of 175.36°C. The pyrolysis process using 3000 grams of plastic was obtained as much as 1,060 liters of fuel oil, while the tar produced was 1350 grams.
