Abstract

This reasearch aims to determine the effect of the number of blades, curvature of the blades, and length of the propeller shaft on the thrust of the ship. The research method used is library research method. The data collection method used is the documentation method. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. To maintain the accuracy of the assessment and prevent misinformation in data analysis, inter-library checks are carried out, rereading the literature, and paying attention to the supervisor's comments. The results in the research that has been carried out can be concluded that when using 3 propeller shafts the ideal distance used is from the center to the left of 850 mm and the distance from the right to the center of the shaft is 800 mm. Then tilt the propeller shaft at an angle of 15° to a better tilt angle to get the thrust and speed of the ship. The number of blades used to obtain the stability of the ship's thrust is 3 blades. And the optimal blade curvature is 15°.
