Abstract
The current Covid-19 pandemic situation requires a high school teenager to have good resilience skills in order to survive, rise, and adapt to the existing situation. But the fact is that some high school teenagers experience stress, panic, anxiety, and worries about the future during the pandemic. Everyone actually has the ability to build resilience. However, what makes the difference is how one uses and maximizes these abilities to be useful in dealing with difficult situations. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and social support with the resilience of high school adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was conducted at SMAN X Karanganyar in Karanganyar with a total of 247 people consisting of 48 boys and 199 girls. This study uses a purposive sampling technique with data collection tools using a scale made by the researcher himself according to the aspects of Emotional Intelligence from Salovey and Mayer's theory, the social support scale made by the researcher himself taking into account the social support aspects of House's theory, and the resilience scale of Revich & Shatte. Correlation data analysis was performed with multiple regression. The results of data analysis resulted in F = 172.073 with a sig p value = 0.000 <0.05 which means a significant relationship between emotional intelligence, social support and resilience variables, so that the researcher's hypothesis is proven. Correlation (rxy) of = 0.765 with sig, p = 0.000 (p <0.05) means that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience, the higher emotional intelligence, the higher one's resilience. The correlation between social support and resilience is obtained by coefficient value (Pearson Correlation (rxy) = 0.475 with sig, p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) which means there is a significant positive relationship between social support and resilience. Effective contribution of emotional intelligence variable simultaneously with social support produces R2 of 58.5%. The effective contribution of the emotional intelligence variable to resilience has an R2 of 57.68%. Furthermore, for the social support variable to resilience has an effective contribution value of R2 of 0.83%. This means that the influence of emotional intelligence is greater than the social support variable on resilience.
