Abstract
Introduction: The nutritional needs of adolescent girls are also needed to balance growth, so that nutritional intake in young women must be maintained so as not to interfere with the process of hormone development (Sari, 2010). Nutritional problems commonly found in adolescents are underweight (underweight) and overweight (obese). Based on the preliminary survey, the number of obese adolescents was 10.37% and it was greater than the Central Java Province Riskesdas in 2018, which was 8.8%. Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between the level of consumption of protein, fat and carbohydrates and body mass index (BMI) of adolescent girls. Methodology: This study was an analytic observational study with a cross sectional design. The number of samples of 44 female students of SMAN 1 Mojolaban was taken by proportional random sampling. Interviews were conducted with 44 respondents using the Semi Quantitative FFQ for the last three months to find out data on energy, protein, fat and carbohydrate intake. Nutritional status was measured based on anthropometry, namely height and weight, then categorized using the BMI / U indicator. The statistical test used is the Rank Spearman. Result: The average consumption of protein, fat, and carbohydrates for young women was in the sufficient category, which was 65.9%; 68.2%; and 70.5%. Adolescent girls mostly had a normal body mass index (BMI) of 56.8%. There was no significant correlation between the level of protein and fat consumption with BMI (p=0.073 & p=0.259). There was a significant correlation between the level of carbohydrate consumption with BMI (p = 0.004). Conclusion: There was no correlation between the level of consumption of protein and fat nutrients with the BMI value of adolescent girls at SMAN 01 Mojolaban. There was a correlation between the level of consumption of carbohydrate nutrients with the BMI value in adolescent girls at SMAN 01 Mojolaban.
