Abstract
Menstruation is a physiological case with its uniqueness that is experienced only in a woman. That is normally occurring at the age of 12-13 years or including adolescence. Adolescent girls are very susceptible to infection in their reproductive organs. The reason is the lack of personal hygiene, especially during menstruation (menstrual hygiene). Poor menstrual hygiene can trigger the emergence of many Reproductive Tract Infections (ISR). Hygiene when affecting the level of knowledge about reproductive health. Lack of understanding related to reproductive health makes adolescent girls unable to implement menstrual habits which can cause harm to their reproductive health. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the level of knowledge of adolescent girls before and before being given education on menstrual hygiene management. This study has a goal, among others, to increase the knowledge of adolescent girls by providing education about menstrual hygiene management, while the specific objectives are 1) identify the characteristics of young women 2) to determine the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about menstrual hygiene management, and 3) to analyze the knowledge of adolescent girls about menstrual hygiene management before and after being given. education. Based on the research results, it is known that the characteristics of respondents aged 11 years with a frequency of 31 respondents (59.6%), age 12 with a frequency of 14 respondents (26.9%), and age 10 years with a frequency of 7 respondents (13.5%). ). The level of knowledge of adolescent girls before being given education on menstrual hygiene management mostly had less knowledge with 50 respondents (96.2%) and 2 respondents (3.8%). After conducting the research, the results obtained are the level of knowledge of adolescent girls after being given education on menstrual hygiene management with a broad knowledge of both respondents, namely 44 (84.6%) and the number of adolescent girls with sufficient knowledge as many as 8 respondents (15.4%). This is indicated by an increase in the average value of 6,362 with a P-value of 0.00, which means that the knowledge of adolescent girls after being given education on menstrual hygiene management has difference.
