Abstract

Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder with a chronic course and sufferers will experience disturbances in thought processes, perceptions, emotions, and behavior. Psychotherapy is a treatment that is carried out through verbal and psychological techniques that are given to overcome and reduce mental stress or sources of stress from life. The purpose of this study was to describe the expectations and expectations of schizophrenic patients for group activity therapy services in mental hospitals. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive research design and cross sectional approach method. A sample of 104 schizophrenic patients was taken using purposive sampling technique. The results of this study found that there were 55 (52.9%) respondents with moderate expectations and 39 (37.5%) respondents with high hope. The conclusion in this study is that the client's expectations and hope for psychotherapy services are high, so it is necessary to increase psychotherapy services in mental hospitals.
