Abstract

Abstract This study aims to (1) identify the value of character education in the @sandiuno Instagram account and (2) describe the use of character education values in the comments of the @sandiuno Instagram account as an addition to Indonesian class IX teaching materials. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The object of this research is the comment of the Instagram account @sandiuno. The data of this research are sentences that contain the values of character education. The source of the current research data is comments written by netizens in the @sandiuno Instagram account. The data collection technique of this research is reading, listening, and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method used in this research is the agih method and the matching method. The validity of the data used in this study is the theoretical triangulation technique. The results of this study are (1) In the comments of netizens on Instagram the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy @sandiuno found 18 values of character education, namely religious, appreciating achievement, curiosity, honesty, love for the homeland, friendly/communicative, social care, tolerance, caring environment, discipline, love of reading, hard work, creative, responsible, independent, democratic, national spirit, love peace and (2) The value of character education found in the Instagram comments of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy @sandiuno can be used as Indonesian language teaching materials class IX Semester 1 in accordance with Basic Competence 4.7. Summarize the contents of the response text in the form of criticism, refutation, or praise (regarding the environment, social conditions, and/or cultural diversity) that are heard and read.
