Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on the interest of visiting tourists in tourism objects with the destination image as a mediating variable. The population and sample in this study were tourists who had visited tourism objects in Surakarta as many as 120 respondents. The type of data used in this study is primary data. The data collection method uses a questionnaire and is processed using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis tools with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results showed that social media had a positive and significant effect on interest in visiting, social media had a positive and significant effect on destination image, destination image had a positive and significant effect on interest in visiting, and social media had a positive and significant effect on interest in visiting which was mediated by destination image.
