Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted various aspects of life, one of which causes education in Indonesia to be conducted online which affects student learning motivation. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and student learning motivation during the pandemic and the differences in motivation between women and men. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive relationship between family support and learning motivation and there is a difference between the motivation of female students and male students. The subjects in this study were 150 students, 75 female students and 75 male students of the 2018 batch of 2018, 2019 and 2020 Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta who were conducting online learning. The sampling technique used is Quota sampling. Data collection tools used are family support scale and learning motivation scale. Data analysis was carried out by analyzing Pearson's product moment correlation and one way ANOVA using SPSS for Windows. The results of the analysis of the data obtained show a correlation coefficient of r = 0.337; p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which shows a very significant positive correlation between family support and learning motivation, then the one way ANOVA result = 0.015 has met the requirements of Sig <0.05. This shows that the proposed hypothesis is proven, so it can be concluded that the higher the family support of the students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, the higher the learning motivation, then there is a difference between the motivation of women and the motivation of men. The family support variable gave an effective contribution of 11.3%, which means that there were 88.7% of contributions from other variables.
