Abstract

One of the newspapers printed in the Surakarta area. This is a newspaper published by a certain company such as the Solopos newspaper to facilitate the delivery of newspaper information using language as the medium, a language that is arranged in a systematic, concise and easy-to-understand way with the aim of making it easy for readers to understand the information conveyed by news writers. The ability of writers and editors is highly demanded so that newspapers can be presented to the maximum. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the form of acronyms in the Solopos newspaper (2) to describe the implications of acronyms in learning Indonesian. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study are from the contents of the May 2021 edition of the Solopos newspaper, both from crime news, economics, education, which still have acronyms. The primary data source in this study is an acronym found in the Solopos Newspaper Edition 5 May 2021. The secondary data source is data obtained about the analysis of acronyms in the Solopos newspaper and their implications in Indonesian language learning obtained through intermediaries or obtained through other sources such as journals and research. . Data collection techniques using data supply techniques, data analysis techniques and data analysis presentation techniques. The method used to analyze the data is the intralingual equivalent method. The validity of the data in this study used triangulation. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the researchers found that the use of acronyms in the May 2021 edition of the Solopos newspaper found as many as 18 data or forms of acronyms.
