Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of soft skills and intellectual abilities on job readiness in students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta Management Study Program. This research is a type of quantitative research. The sample in this study were students of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta in the 2017 batch, totaling 100 respondents. The sampling method used in this study was non-probability sampling and purposive sampling. Testing the validity using the Pearson product moment method with the provisions of the value of rcount > rtable and significance < 0.05. Reliability testing using Cronbach Alpha. Classical assumption testing using normality test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test. The analytical tool used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis which aims to answer the problems in this research by using tests namely t test, F test, and coefficient of determination (R2) . Based on the results of the analysis using the F test, it shows that soft skills and intellectual abilities simultaneously have a significant effect on work readiness with an Fcount of 101.429 > Ftable 3.09 and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Based on the t-test, it shows that soft skills partially have a significant effect on work readiness with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 then intellectual ability partially has a significant effect on work readiness with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The magnitude of the influence of soft skills and intellectual abilities on work readiness in students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta Management Study Program is 0.823 or 82.3%.
