Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' mathematical communication skills in solving three dimensional questions based on self-efficacy. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Cilacap involving 15 students of class XII MIPA 4 for the 2020/2021 academic year. Data collection techniques used in this study are test questions, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used in this research is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The analytical framework is developed based on indicators of mathematical communication skills, namely the ability to express mathematical ideas through written and spoken words, the ability to express mathematical ideas in visual form, and the ability to use mathematical notation and terms to present ideas and describe relationships and situation models. The research was prepared in accordance with the dimensions of self-efficacy, namely Magnitude which is related to the level (level) of task difficulty faced by someone, Generality which is related to the feeling of ability shown by individuals in different task contexts and Strength related to the strength of a person's belief regarding the ability owned. The results of this study indicate that students with high levels of self-efficacy are able to meet all indicators of mathematical communication skills. Students with a moderate level of self-efficacy were able to meet all indicators of mathematical communication skills even though at the time of the interview the subject was hesitant in answering the interview and there were a few errors on the test questions. Students with a low level of self-efficacy are only able to meet 2 of the 3 indicators of mathematical communication skills, namely the first indicator and the second indicator.
