Abstract
Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. June, 2021. The language in the world of cinema used by the author has its own characteristics and uniqueness. This requires mastery and knowledge of language, one of which is word formation through the process of affixation or affixes. The author is interested in researching word formation through the process of affixation and changes in meaning that occur in the film "Mariposa" by Luluk HF. The aims of this study are 1) to describe the process of word formation through the affixation, 2) to describe the changes in meaning that occur after the affixation, 3) the implications of affixation in the film "Mariposa" on Indonesian language learning in junior high school. This research method is a qualitative description to understand the linguistic phenomenon being studied. The data collection technique in this study used the listening technique to obtain oral data in the form of affixation and the note-taking technique was used after the listening technique to obtain written data. The data analysis technique used in this study is the agih method, the BUL technique (For Direct Elements) which aims to classify lingual units in the form of morphemes. The results of this study indicate that from 57 data there are 66 words in the form of affixes that have been analyzed. Affixes in the movie "Mariposa" include: 28 prefixes (me-, ber-, pe-, ke-, ter-), 24 confixes (ke-an, pean, per-an, ber-an, se-an, se-nya) and 14 suffixes (-i and –an). In the process of word formation the prefix me- undergoes morphophonemics which gives rise to the allomorphs men-, meng-, and the confix pe-an also undergoes morphophonemics to give rise to allomorphs pen- and peng-. Word formation also changes word classes which include: 1) NV, 2) V N, 3) NAdj, 4) NAdv, 5) AdjV, 6) AdjN, 7) AdjAdv, 8) NumV, 9) AdvN. In the process of affixation, the meaning also changes. Based on the results of research on the film "Mariposa" by Luluk HF, it contains 66 affixes that undergo word formation and change in meaning after the affixation process. The process of affixation can be implicated in learning Indonesian for class VIII SMP regarding the structure and linguistics of the review text.
