Abstract
The sleep quality of workers with work shifts is different from workers who do not carry out work shift. If the sleep sufficiency of workers is disturbed, it will cause work fatigue. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in sleep quality between parking and security shift employees. This study uses a comparative method. This study uses a measuring instrument, namely the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scale compiled by Dr. Daniel J. Buysse from the University of Pittsburg's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic together with his colleagues, namely Charles F. Reynolds, Timothy H. Monk, Susan R. Berman, and David J. Kuper in 1988, where the higher the score, the higher the score. the worse the person's sleep quality. The population in this study was parking employees and security guards at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta totaling 112 employees and security guards using the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis of this study used a non-parametric test, namely the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in sleep quality between practicum students and those who had not taken practicum with a value of sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 (p<0.05). Therefore, the hypothesis in this study is accepted. Shift security guards have poorer sleep quality than parking employees keywords : sleep quality, work shift, PSQI (Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index)
