Abstract

This study aims to examine: (1) The effect of logical-mathematical intelligence on students' high-level critical thinking skills. (2) The effect of self-efficacy on students' high-level critical thinking skills. (3) The effect of logical-mathematical intelligence and self-efficacy on students' high-level critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a comparative casual research type. This research is a non-experimental study using a survey design. The population of this research is 120 students of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling with a total sample of 89 students. The data collection method used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis obtained the regression line equation: Y = 9.275 + 0.716X1 + 0.150X2. The equation shows that high-level critical thinking skills are influenced by logical-mathematical intelligence and self-efficacy. The results of this study are: (1) logical-mathematical intelligence affects the high-level critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. (2) self-efficacy affects the high-level critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. (3) Logical-mathematical intelligence and self-efficacy affect the high-level critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Gemolong. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.882 or 88%, it means that the logical-mathematical intelligence and self-efficacy variables affect the high-level critical thinking ability by 88%, while 12% is influenced by other variables not studied.
