Abstract

Fulfilling the need for animal food is very important for the people of Indonesia because it involves the fulfillment of nutrition for the Indonesian population which tends to increase every year. Chicken meat is a source of animal protein that can be consumed by the public at large. The price of chicken tends to increase throughout the year, but the trend of increasing this price is not always followed by a decrease in demand for chicken meat, so it is necessary to analyze what factors affect the demand for chicken meat. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the factors of Chicken Meat Price, Chicken Egg Price, and Per Capita Income on Chicken Meat Demand in Indonesia from 2000 to 2019 using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression analysis tool. The results of the study showed that the variable price of chicken eggs and income per capita had a significant effect on demand for chicken meat in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the variable price of chicken meat does not have a significant effect on the demand for chicken meat in Indonesia.
