Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic is a non-natural disaster that hurts mental and psychosocial health conditions such as anxiety. To prevent the occurrence of increasing anxiety, prevention can be done by promoting health. This health promotion uses a smartphone because it has services and features that attract people who are easy to carry, save time and have a wide reach and can be accessed anywhere. This study aims to determine the effect of health promotion via smartphones to reduce anxiety levels during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a quantitative research design with a pra experiment one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample used in this study was 30 respondents using total sampling. The instrument in this study used a modified questionnaire HRS-A (Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety). The data analysis used was a paired sample t-test. Before giving the intervention, it was shown that 16 respondents (53.3%) experienced mild anxiety, 12 respondents (40.0%) experienced moderate anxiety, 2 respondents (6.7%) experienced severe anxiety. After giving the intervention, 17 respondents (56.7%) did not experience anxiety, 11 respondents (36.7%) experienced mild anxiety, and 2 respondents (6.7%) experienced moderate anxiety. The results of the paired sample t-test obtained t-value = 41.690 with a p-value of 0.001. So it can be concluded that there are changes in the level of anxiety before and after health promotion.
