Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-control and Cyberbullying in adolescents using online games. The hypothesis is that there is a negative relationship between self-control and Cyberbullying behavior. The higher the self-control, the lower the Cyberbullying behavior. Vice versa, the lower the self-control, the higher the Cyberbullying behavior. The population in this study were students of class VIII at Junior High School 1 of Tawangharjo, totaling 312 with a sample of 50 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. The method used is quantitative with a measuring instrument in the form of Self Control Scale and Cyberbullying Scale. Data analysis was performed using product moment correlation techniques. Based on data analysis between self-control variables and Cyberbullying, the correlation coefficient values are obtained (rxy) of -0,382 and (p) of 0,006 (p < 0,05). This means that there is a very significant negative relationship between self-control variables and Cyberbullying in adolescents using online games. The self-control variable influences the Cyberbullying variable of 14,6% and the rest 85,4% influenced by other variables. Self-control variable is relatively low. While the Cyberbullying variable is classified as very high.
