Abstract

The aims of this study are: (1) identify the problems faced by teachers in implementing integrated thematic learning in 5th grade; (2) describe the causes of teacher problems in integrated thematic learning in 5th grade; and (3) describe the solution to solve the problems faced by the teacher in integrated thematic learning for 5th grade. The type of research is qualitative research. The data collection techniques is interview and documentation techniques. The validity of the data in research through triangulation of techniques and sources. Interactive data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results: (1) the problems 5th grade teachers is difficulty in developing indicators on lesson plans and confusion in making lesson plans, difficulty integrating lesson content one with lesson content other and limited time in implementing learning, and preparing assessment instruments; (2) the factors that caused problems is unable to translate indicators, time constraints in making lesson plans, difficulty linking learning materials because they do not find a common thread to link one material with other materials, and the teacher has difficulty entering student value data into the e-raport application; (3) solution in solving problems is looking for other references or reading lots of examples of lesson plans on the internet or other teachers, chooses to separate the content of the lesson, asks for help from other teachers, KKG activities, training and workshops.
