Abstract

Education in Indonesia in its implementation is not always up to expectations. Several problems arise from the sphere of education. These problems occur in several fields including the distribution of education, quality of education, quality of teachers, infrastructure, and recently the problem of admission of new students through the zoning system which affects student interest in learning. This study aims to determine whether there is a change in class formation at SMA Negeri 1 Nguter after the implementation of the zoning policy in the admission of new students and to find out whether there is an effect caused by class formation on student interest in learning after the implementation of the zoning system for class X students in SMA. Negeri 1 Nguter. This study uses a mixed method research type. The data source used is a document of the average score of students who have been accepted at SMA Negeri 1 Nguter in 2017-2019. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The population in this study were students of class X for the 2018/2019 academic year at SMA Negeri 1 Nguter and Mr. Jaka Santosa S.Pd., M.Pd as students and a sample of 81 students and 1 student teacher. The results showed that there were significant differences that occurred each year. Based on the analysis of the effect of class formation after the implementation of the zoning system on student interest in learning shows that there is a significant influence between class formation after the implementation of the zoning system policy on student interest in learning by 15% and 85% is influenced by other variables.
