Abstract
This study aims to (1) describe the GLS implementation program at SD Negeri Sondakan No.11 Surakarta (2) describe the role of school residents in implementing the GLS program and (3) describe stakeholder perceptions of the GLS program that is already running. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data instruments in the form of observation and interviews. Observations were made by organizing the GLS program directly at school, written interviews were conducted online via a google form. The qualitative data analysis technique used is interactive analysis. The subjects of this study were school members including the principal, teachers, guardians of students, and students. The GLS program at SD Negeri Sondakan No.11 Surakarta is implemented 15 minutes to 60 minutes before the teaching and learning activities begin. Some of the GLS programs that have been implemented regularly are the reading literacy program, namely the arrival of a mobile library car from the Surakarta City Library and Archives Office, a religious literacy program, which is a joint recitation activity to improve short letter memorization, and a Adiwiyata literacy program to take advantage of the environment around the school. Based on the research results, it shows that the implementation of GLS is only in the first stage, namely the habituation stage. The role of school members who actively participate is very influential for the GLS running program on the development of students. Stakeholders' perceptions of the GLS program have also been responded positively. This is supported by changes in attitudes or habits of students with good character.
