Abstract

This study aims to understand the implementation of transformational leadership aspects in actualizing quality assurance owned by the Principal in MTs PPMI Assalaam Sukoharjo including idealized influence (charismatic behavior), inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. This study was conducted using qualitative research method that investigates the quality of relationships, activities, situations, or materials. The subjects of this study were the principal, educators, the head of administration, and students. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The validity of the data in this study was carried out using triangulation of sources and methods. Data were analyzed qualitatively using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman including data collection, data presentation, and drawing conclusion or verification. The results showed as follows: (1) idealized influence (charismatic behavior) owned by the Principal of MTs PPMI Assalaam Sukoharjo who exemplifies all school’s members with noble character, behaves politely, honestly, religiously, discipline, humorous, professional, high integrity, persistent, enthusiastic, and more concerned with the interests of school than personal interests; (2) inspirational motivation. The Principal always motivates school’s members, involves all school elements and stakeholders in preparing the vision, mission, and goals of the school, shows enthusiasm, and optimism, develops solid and strong teamwork, and shows commitment in achieving the vision;(3) intellectual stimulation. The Principal always stimulates educators and education personnel to innovate and be creative in guarding superior classes, emphasizing a professional and solid work culture, empowering all educators and education personnel in various events, and being competent in solving problems wisely, gentle, fair, and wise;(4) individualized consideration. The Principal always pays attention to the special needs of the school community, increases their potential and knowledge, establishes effective communication, delegates tasks as a form of potential development and regeneration, and becomes a professional and character mentor.
