Abstract
The purpose of this study was to increase student learning activeness in mathematics through the Talking Stick game strategy for grade III students of SD Negeri 2 Butuh, Mojosongo District, Boyolali Regency, Academic Year 2019/2020. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study include: the subject of the action actor, namely the research teacher, and the subject of the recipient of the action, namely students. Then the object of this research is the activeness of students in teaching and learning. This research procedure was carried out in collaboration between class teachers and researchers with an effort to increase student activity through the Talking Stick game strategy. The research process takes the form of a cycle that lasts several times so that it can achieve the expected goals. The data collection method in this study can be obtained in several ways, namely: observation, interviews, and documentation. The assessment instruments are in the form of observation sheets. The results showed an increase in student activity in Mathematics. This can be seen from the student learning activeness in the pre-cycle conditions, the average student learning activeness was 60.06%, the first cycle increased by 69.01%, and the second cycle increased again to 85.04%. So that the action research stops in cycle II, because in cycle II the increase in indicator achievement has reached ≥80%. Thus, this study can be concluded that the application of the Talking Stick game strategy is able to increase learning activeness in mathematics class III students of SD Negeri 2 Butuh, Mojosongo District, Boyolali Regency.
