Abstract

The general objective of this research to describe (1) how much the effect of exemplary on student’s religious character (2) how much the effect of student’s habituation on religious character (3) how much the effect of exemplary and student’s habituation on religious character. Researcheruse a quantitative method to the type of non-experimental research that is is survey research. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires. The source of the data was obtained from a random sampling of 84 fifth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surakarta. The results of this research is: (1) the exemplary has big effect on the formation of student’s religious character. It is based on t test it is known the price (8,829) is greater than (1,663) and the level of religious character of students is 48,7 % determines by the exemplary method, while 51,3% is determined by other factors.(2) the habituation has big effect on the formation of student’s religious character. It is based on t test it is known the price (6,351) is greater than (1,663) and the level of religious character of students is 33% determines by the exemplary method, while 67% is determined by other factors (3) the exemplary and the habituation has big effect on the formation of student’s religious character. It is based on f test it is known the price (50,98) is greater than (3,11) and the level of religious character of students is 56% determines by the exemplary, while 44% is determined by other factors or variables not examined by the researcher. The relative contribution of the exemplary and the habituation were 41% and 59%, respectively. The effective contribution of of the exemplary and the habituation were 22,6% and 33,1%, respectively.
