Abstract

The existence of Islamic Junior High School (SMP) in Karanganyar Regency, there are 46 schools out of 106 total number of public and private SMP / MTs schools. The existence of this school typology classification can help people to choose schools that are truly in line with current educational developments. The more competition develops, it can be seen from the quality of school graduates produced. From the school's development, the government began to believe in the quality offered by Islamic schools. This study aims to describe 1) Types of Islamic Schools in Karanganyar Regency. 2) To determine the effect of the inflow of new students on types of Islamic schools in Karanganyar Regency. The research method used is a mixed method. The data collection techniques used were documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis method used is descriptive analytic method. The results of this study are the Typology of Islamic Schools in Karanganyar Regency based on the results of the 2016/2017, 2017/2018, and 2018/2019 academic years can be classified into four types: (1) There are six developed types of schools. (2) There are seven schools in dynamic type. (3) There are nine schools of entanglement. (4) Underdeveloped type there are 24 schools. Based on the analysis of the sample schools of each type of Islamic School in Karanganyar Regency, it was found that there was a positive and significant effect of school type on the influx of new students as much as 97.5%. Where a school with a developed type has the highest number of students among other types of schools.
