Abstract

The purposes of research, (1) Examine the effect of mathematics learning with the Discovery Learning model based on Group Investigation and Discovery Learning based on Student Teams Achievement Divisions on mathematics learning outcomes, (2) Examine the effect of students' mathematical communication skills on mathematics learning outcomes, ( 3) Examine the interaction between learning models with students' mathematical communication skills on mathematics learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental design. The population of this research is all students of class VIII at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta year 2019/2020. The sample in this study consisted of two classes with sampling techniques using cluster random sampling. Data collection methods use questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used two ways analysis of variance with unequal cells. With a significance level of 5%, it can be concluded that: (1) There is an effect of the Discovery Learning model based on Group Investigation and Discovery Learning based on Student Teams Achievement Divisions on mathematics learning outcomes with FA = 8.064. (2) There is an influence of students' mathematical communication skills on mathematics learning outcomes with FB = 211,794. (3) There is no interaction between learning models and mathematical communication skills of students with mathematics learning outcomes with FAB = 0.696.
