Abstract
This study aims to identify the implementation and supporting factors and obstacles to the implementation of the school literacy movement through students' interest in reading. This research method uses descriptive qualitative type. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The data of this study are primary and secondary data processed using analytical techniques with steps of data reduction, data display, and data verification. The validity of the data uses source triangulation and technique triangulation. . The results showed that: 1) Implementation of the school literacy movement through habituation of reading interest includes habituation, learning and development activities. Habituation is done by setting aside time for 15 minutes, involving the parents, providing a class reading angle. Development is carried out by reading books aloud, reading silently, reading together, and / or integrated reading followed by other activities, namely, creating story maps, using graphic organizers, talking. 2) Supporting factors include: school community awareness of the importance of literacy culture, the existence of libraries, up to date book collections, reading corners, etc., active participation of school residents, APBS for the provision of supporting facilities, the number of posters, bulletin boards, slogans, numbers, books, book donations, etc., and participation from parents. Inhibiting factors include: not all teachers accompany students when reading time, low student interest in reading, books in the reading corner are incomplete, there is no bookshelf in the reading corner of the class, and there is no mandatory library visit schedule.
