Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the sociohistorical background of Leila S. Chudori as the author of the novel Laut Bercerita, (2) to describe the structure that builds the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori, (3) describes the inner conflict of the main characters in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori with Literary Psychology review, (4) describes its implementation in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori with literary learning in high school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the object of research is the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Laut Bercerita. Data collection is done by library techniques, see, and note. The validity of the data uses the theory of triangulation. The data analysis technique is done by heuristic and hermeneutic methods. The results of this study are (1) Leila S. Chudori has a real name Leila Salikha Chudori who was born on December 12, 1962 in Jakarta. Leila S. Chudori's works have been published in the form of novels, collections of short stories, scenarios (2) the novel structure of Laut Bercerita, among others, The theme is the struggle of a young man named Biru Laut, he was a student activist who opposed the New Order era President Soeharto's government, although in the end Biru Laut was also one of the victims who were kidnapped and never returned. The facts of the story, a) the plot used is the forward flow, b) the main character is Biru Laut, c) the setting of the script is in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Solo and Situbondo, the setting took place between the 2000s, the social background of student life overseas, namely the lives of students and activists in the Yogyakarta area who are full of simplicity, (3) the inner conflict of the main character of the novel Laut Bercerita, there are two types of inner conflicts, namely approaching conflict (avoidance- avoidance conflict), (4) this study is in accordance with the criteria for selecting teaching materials, namely a) aspects of language, b) aspects of psychology, c) aspects of student background so that it can be implemented as teaching material in class XI SMA in accordance with KD read fiction.
