Abstract

Physical imperfections often become an obstacle for a person to perform a variety of daily activities. One form of physical imperfections is a disability of the body or disability. Sports for the disabled can be used as a medium to develop the potential and talent he has to gain a reward and achievement. Apparently the many achievements and facilities provided by the Government, still make some of these athletes feel unfair, unprosperous, embarrassed, unconfident, inferior, self-segregate from the environment, and sensitive to the shortcomings he possesses. The purpose of this research is to describe the efficacy of the self-disabled rock climbing athletes. This research was conducted in Surakarta City with an informer of a disabled rock climbing athlete. This research uses a case study approach. Methods of collecting data using interview techniques and documentation. The data analysis method uses a descriptive method. The results showed a high degree of self-efficacy with the Level/Magnitude of the subject (S) i.e. the legs should be amputated because of a accident that made the disability. Although the legs have amputated the subject of being a rock climbing athlete and won 1st place in the Daksa Rock Climbing championship in South Korea and entered the semi-finals of World Climbing in Paris, France. The generality of the subject (S) is always positive thinking to resolve any problems that could possibly be possible. The subject of the athlete's disability gets the same treatment even if it has its own sports techniques in accordance with their individual disability needs. Strength subjects (S) in the face of the subject matter are just indifferent and let the problem finish by itself. Not being a pressure any problem that comes to the subject.
