Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is the ability to generate or develop new ideas in solving problems that exist in mathematics learning activities. Most students still have difficulty in solving problems with storytelling, one of the reasons is the students' low mathematical creative thinking ability. This study aims to analyze and describe the mathematical creative thinking abilities of students in solving story problems in logic and set material reviewed by Sukoharjo gender based on indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study were data reduction, data writing and data verification. The research subjects consisted of students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta who took Logic and Association courses. The test given is a test of mathematical creative thinking ability in the form of a matter of logic and set material. Next 6 subjects were selected based on test results and interviews. The results of the study were obtained by students with high creative thinking abilities who were able to meet the indicators of creative thinking, while students with creative thinking abilities were only able to meet the indicators of fluency, elaboration, and one student was able to meet the indicators of flexibility and students with low creative thinking ability with a percentage only able to meet the indicators of fluency and elaboration.
