Abstract

Surakarta City is a city where wedding services are increasingly developing. In Surakarta there are many buildings that are only rented to hold wedding receptions without any other supporting facilities. So that the bride and groom are still preoccupied in preparing for her wedding reception. Today's demands for an increasingly practical, yet effective and efficient lifestyle that develops in society, make all aspects of fulfilling the needs expected to go in harmony. Therefore, a Wedding Center was designed in the city of Surakarta that provides supporting facilities to meet the needs of the marriage. The design of the Wedding Center in the city of Surakarta is located on Colonel Sutarto's street, more precisely in front of the Moewardi Hospital. The Wedding Center was designed with a neo-vernacular architectural concept approach. Where this theme is a blend of traditional elements with modern elements. The shape of the building analogizes the typical shape of the city of Surakarta. The method used in this planning is descriptive method, this method collects, analyzes and concludes the data needed and related to the problem raised. The results of the report in the form of a design concept and its application to the design as a guide to continue the design of the Wedding Center in the city of Surakarta.
