Abstract

This study aims to describe the social values ​​contained in Kirana Kejora's Yorick novel and its relevance as teaching material in schools. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are words in Yorick's novel that contain social values. The data source is obtained from Yorick's novel by Kirana Kejora. The technique used in this study is literature, refer and note technique. The analysis technique in this study uses a semiotic technique with heuristic and hermeneutic readings. To test the validity of the data used data triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the discovery of 13 data relating to social values. Based on these data, it is quite relevant to be associated with RPP of Indonesian subjects basic competencies 3.11 and 4.11 so that they can be applied in literary learning in class.
