Abstract
Introduction: Motor development is one of the developments in children which is divided into 2, gross motor and fine motor. Provision of stimulation in children under 5 years of age is a determining factor in the child's subsequent motor development. Poor stimulation can have a negative impact on children's development. One of the stimuli can be obtained by children in preschool education such as daycare services. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in motor development between children aged 4-6 years who had a history of taking and not taking daycare. Method: The type of method used is the analytic observation with cross-sectional design. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling with a total sampling method with a total sample of 42 respondents. The research instrument used the DDST II (Denver Development Screening Test II) questionnaire. Data analysis using Chi-square test. Results: Chi-Square test results on gross motor development with p value 0,000 <0.05 for daycare and p value 0.001 <0.05 for non-daycare while Chi-Square test results on fine motor development with p value 0,000 <0.05 for both daycare and non-daycare which means there are differences in gross motor development and fine motor skills of children aged 4-6 years who have a history of daycare and history of not taking daycare. Conclusion: Children who have a history of daycare stimulation have better gross & fine motor development than children who are not history of daycare.
