Abstract
The Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) is an autonomous Muhammadiyah organization that operates in the fields of religion, student affairs, and society. In carrying out its functions, IMM requires cadres who are loyal in fighting so that the wheels of movement always turn. The purpose of this study is to describe the loyalty of IMM members in the Surakarta city branch, to find out the factors that hinder and support the loyalty of members in organizing in the Surakarta city branch of IMM, and to know the loyalty of members in joining the Surakarta branch of the IMM organization. The subjects in this study were 5 subjects where the first subject was two alumni of the Surakarta city branch IMM with different periods of leadership, the second was a member of the Surakarta city branch IMM who was still actively studying in the final semester, the third was a member of the Surakarta city branch IMM who had graduated from college and the fourth is a member of the IMM Surakarta city branch who served for an initial period. The selection of informants was carried out by researchers usingtechnique purposive sampling with the criteria for members of the branch leadership of the Surakarta Muhammadiyah Student Association who had been active for two years in structural and who had participated in Darul Arqom Madya, both alumni and active members. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews. As for data analysis with data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study were that all informants stated that loyalty was built because the values and organizational culture in the Muhammadiyah Student Association were positive, it was built because of the approach method that did not only rely on structural but also cultural. There are several factors that affect organizational loyalty in the Muhammadiyah Student Association, namely: Internal factors that come from individuals such as sincerity as a form of spirituality, external factors come from leadership support such as moral support and providing comfort to work and friends such as helping each other carry out tasks in the organization and supporting factors in the form of rules that apply in an organization.
