Abstract

In learning activities to improve students' thinking skills, one of the efforts was made by using HOTS type questions related to the level of readability. The level of readability is adjusted to the ability and reasoning of students. Readability is the suitability of a reading seen from the size of the level of ease. HOTS are questions that generally measure the ability in the realm of analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). The method used by researchers is qualitative and descriptive methods and uses literature studies. The purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of legibility types of High Order thinking Skills (HOTS). The results of the study of the existing data were found as many as 7 Literature KD questions, from the data that had been analyzed the readability level based on the Fry Graph Formula found the results were a lower readability level of 2 questions with a percentage of 28.57%, which corresponds to the readability level when applied at the high school level there are 4 questions with a percentage of 57.14%, and those that are not appropriate because of the higher readability level of 1 question with a percentage of 14.28%. Whereas for the analysis from the perspective of the HOTS problem analyzed based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy it was found that the HOTS problem is found in no. 47 and at no. 48 whereas for the other problems, it is still at the LOTS and MOTS levels.
